"Helping parents raise their children to be followers of Jesus."
Due to COVID-19 we are now meeting at Christ Church Sutton at 2:30pm on Sundays. We will not be running our usual Hope Kids and Hope Juniors Children's groups but our service at 4pm is suitable for children and Primary aged children will have their own activity in one group in the garden (weather dependent). We want to encourage you to join us and not worry when your child makes noise and gets restless! There will be an overflow room for those who really need a temporary timeout, however we really do want to make these services accessible to all ages (including adults!) and so want to encourage you to persist with children sitting through the whole service.

(DURING NORMAL TIMES)
At Hope Church Sutton we want all children to feel fully part of the church as well as having age-specific teaching to help them know Jesus and live for him in their everyday lives. But our larger aim is not only to teach our children but to help to train our parents to teach their own children to be followers of Jesus, as they have the ultimate responsibility for them.
During our Sunday service, we operate two groups specifically for children aged 4-11 years old:
Hope Kids (ages 4-7) [reception to year 2]
Hope Juniors (ages 7-11) [years 3 to 6]
Each week at our 10am Sunday church service, the children start the service with the adults so they regularly get a flavour for an all-age church. After around 10 minutes they go out to their groups. Every couple of months we also have special all-age church services which are shorter and designed to engage the children as well as the adults.
Each of our Sunday children's groups will:
Have age-specific Bible teaching which aims at both understanding and applying it to their everyday lives
Sing child-friendly worship songs
Play age-specific games and crafts
All children are welcome whether they are used to church children's groups or not!
We are careful to keep to government recommended adult-to-child ratios in all of our children's groups. And all of our children's leaders have been fully DBS checked with the government's child protection regulation body and follow the Co-Mission Safeguarding Policy.
