Find out about our two groups for teenagers - Ignite (11-14) and Epic (15-18).
Our Ignite group meet every Friday. During the Sunday service we run activities for Ignite two or three times a month. Our Epic group also meet every Friday. During the Sunday service we encourage this age group to stay with the adults for the main service.
The big aim for our youth (as with all our children's groups) is to help them grow in their faith in Christ, and to help them build deeper friendships with each other. So the Bible is at the centre of all we do, and all of it is great fun! Everyone is welcome to join us!
Due to COVID-19 we are meeting on Zoom on Fridays during term time. Ignite (11-14) are on from 7:30-8:30pm, and Epic (15-18) are on from 8:30-9:30pm. Each week we play games, catch up and have a short Bible study. If you'd like to join or have any questions please contact us.
Currently we are meeting at Sutton Grammar School at 10:30am on Sundays and we are not running separate Youth groups during the services. You can find out more information on our new Sunday Services by clicking here.
When the restrictions allow us to meet in person we run on Fridays from 7:15pm - 9:30pm at the The Church of the Good Shepherd, Queen Mary's Avenue, Carshalton, SM5 4MP. Ignite meet together with Epic with age-specific Bible study and games. Note Ignite finishes at 8:30pm but Epic carries on until 9.30pm.
We're keen to stretch our youth and give them good Bible study that is age appropriate and relevant to everyday life. But we're also keen to cater both for experienced Christians and those who know very little about God - so everyone is genuinely welcome (providing they're 11-18 years old...).
We also want the youth to have deep and genuine friendships so we share and pray with each other about what's going on in our lives.
We also go out and about for socials - bowling, ice skating, fireworks, scavenger hunts, film nights... Get in touch to find out more!
SUNDAYS (during normal times)
Ignite meets two or three times a month on Sunday mornings during the main Hope Church service (10-11:30am). We start the service in the main room with everyone else, and after 10-15 minutes of singing and prayers we go out to our own room and have a Bible study, play games, do drama, pray, eat snacks, grill-a-Christian... We stay in throughout the whole of the main service once or twice a month.
We're keen for our teenagers to be fully involved in the life of church. However we recognise that they also need some age-specific input, both so that they make strong friendships with those of their age and so that the Bible teaching they receive is relevant to them at their age and stage.
